Is bedtime really this much fun??

I still don't know what the joke was, but it must have been a doozy!

Abigail was part of the fun too!

The aftermath...

I think the post trick-or-treating candy sort is one of the finest Halloween traditions. Kohen followed in the footsteps of his Daddy by not gorging himself and carefully sorting all the different types of treats. He'd pick his favorites, eat a few, admire a few. He was most happy about this long stick of licorice and most disapointed that no one gave him juice this year. (Last year he got a bottle of sunny-D). Evelyn promptly fell asleep and nearly missed the whole ritual. She woke up when we tried to peal off her costume and then amazed us with her ability to stuff as much candy down her pie hole as she could while unwrapping even more candy faster than we could take it away. I don't think she had a particular favorite...I'm not sure she took the time to taste anything, but she did seem to like the box of dots. Oh and the sweet tarts in the shapes of bones and skulls, Go figure. I was disspointed in the haul simply because there seemed to be a butterfinger famine going on.

Halloween night!

I have to say, getting ready for trick-or-treating (trunk-or-treating in this case) is quite an ordeal. I was sweating and out of breath by the end of pulling on all the snow gear and then wrestling the costumes on OVER all that. Kohen was very smart to choose his frog costume to wear trick-or-treating. I could fit all sorts of warm clothes underneath and of course Evelyn didn't mind what she wore as long as it was a princess dress on the outside. They both got a load of candy at the trunk-or-treat and I had a suprisingly good time handing out candy. Abigail slept through the whole thing in her car seat...but for the record, she was in costume too! She had a glow in the dark skeleton onesy, pink of course! I gave away every last morsel of candy but I still think we brought home more than we showed up with. Oh well. Happy Halloween!

Everyone wanted to try on Moms costume

Evelyn and Kohen were thrilled with the new addition to my halloween costume. I got the feathery witch hat last year and added the shades this year. Evelyn was so cute in the whole get-up that I considered just letting her wear my costume, of course I wouldn't be as cute a princess as her...or be able to fit even one leg into her dress.

Abigail went to church today for the first time! It was her big debut! It was also the primary program and Kohen was singing so i really wanted to be there. He did amazing! He marched right up with all the other sunbeams and sang his songs, smiled a bunch and looked completely comfortable in front of everyone. Incredible really, for those who know Kohen. I took Abigail home after sacrament meeting but then got a call from Braden to return for the kids because Evelyn had pooped her pants in nursery (I had of course taken all the diapers with me) and Kohen flatly refused to attend primary. I mention all this because the high drama and adventure that is Kohen and Evelyn is in such contrast to quiet little Abigail who loves to lazily dream away in the swing...regardless of what hubub is occuring around her. I do keep reminding myself that at three weeks of age, this might be a passing phase as well. She will probably join the fray in a month or two. But I am definitly enjoying her mellow content little personality for now.

Snow!

We have officially started our winter season. Kohen and Evelyn are super excited for the snow. I think Evelyn doesn't really remember last winter and Kohen is just thrilled to wear all his new snow gear. Our first sledding adventure out in the neighborhood was a success. Kohen tried out all the hills near our house and Evelyn tried to eat as much snow as possible before I could pin her down and stop the feast. I'm afraid she wasn't distinguishing between good clean fresh snow, and snow in the road, snow on rocks...yellow snow (oh please not that!)

I never really did send out an official "welcome baby" announcement, so I guess this is it. Three weeks post fact. Abigail Ruth Galloway was born October 9th at 11:19 am and weighed in at 7lbs 4 oz. She is a sweet little thing and much loved already by her big brother and sister.
