Kohen's first OFFICIAL haircut

Ever since Kohen became a toddler, he has decided that haircuts are for ninnys. He used to be so cooperative during haircuts but for the past month he has gotten shaggier and shaggier and all our attempts at distraction failed. He just wouldn't hold still. We also failed at cutting his hair while he was sleeping...so for those of you who saw Kohen and wondered why the hair on his right side was shorter...that's why.
Well, my wonderful friend Hannah (who is a pharmacy tech but moonlights as a hair dresser) made a house call last week. I got my hair done and then Kohen got plopped in the chair and before he knew what hit him...he had been shaved. I think Bear was loving the irony of the whole thing. (How many times has Bear been on the shaving table only to have Kohen waltz by eating delicous crackers that Bear can't get at). Although in this case, Bear didn't get any treats.

Braden retires from Church Basketball

At the ripe old age of 32 Braden has discovered he just isn't young enough to play church ball anymore. Thursday night he ruptured his achilles tendon during practice for the big game on Saturday. We spent friday running to and frow getting to his doctor appointments. He will have surgery to repair the tendon on monday afternoon. Kohen was very impressed with his cast and crutches. He is enjoying the fact that now HE is faster than daddy at getting up and down stairs.
Unfortunately with his right foot in a monster cast for the next...oh 6 weeks? I am going to be the new family chaffeur and caregiver. How quickly the roles reverse around here!

Happy New Years!

Our annual King Crab feast! Kohen was very interested in this new food, and I think he liked it...sort of. We will work on that, you can't be a Galloway and not like crab!

Kohen was a much bigger fan of Chicken soup and noodles.

It was a wonderful Christmas at the Galloway house. This was the first year Kohen could really get into the unwrapping part of Christmas. He loved every minute. We had a nice relaxed day full of naps and a little sledding trip with the Mower's in the afternoon. We are so thankful for the blessings of home and family.

We went out for an afternoon walk after church (and a much needed nap for all of us). It's about 10 degrees out which I guess isn't THAT cold by Alaska standards but we realized that we have Kohen so bundled up that we really don't have too much more to add...so in January when the temperature drops I'm going to be out of ideas. As it is he looks like that little boy on Christmas Story...can't move his arms, and if he falls down he will just roll in a circle. But he is warm, so no laughing.
We've decided we need a family sled and Bear will pull all of us around. Awww, that would be so nice! If only Bear would actually go for it. Yeah, just look at him...there's no way he would stoop that low.

Our Little Cutie

Kohen loves wearing hats...especially Daddy hats.

For those who haven't heard...

I don't know if everyone knows yet but we are going to have another baby in July! We seem to like that month a lot. I think it has something to do with the fact that we know we can get Grandparents to alaska in the summer easier than the middle of winter. We are very excited and will be even MORE excited when I start feeling better. Morning sickness has been no fun. :-)
